...is a life long music fan. He grew up listening to 70's arena rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Rush, Kiss & Alice Cooper (and still does). But his dislike of 80's hair bands drove him to explore the sounds of punk and alternative rock acts like David Bowie, The Ramones, Sex Pistols, The Minutemen, & Husker Du. He also listens to 60's & 70's traditional country, 60's & 70's Motown, 70's & 80's Top 40 pop, and 90's grunge.

In 1995 he co-founded alternative rock band Empire Adrift along with guitarist Eric Lawson. Jim Ed's latest musical project has been the release of his solo song, Everything I Do Is Wrong, on 7/12/2024. Besides being a music fan and musician, Jim Ed also does voiceover work, acting and ventriloquism. He lives in the Ozarks of southwest Missouri with his wife, Linda.
